Camper Code of Conduct
This Camper Code of Conduct outlines the expectations for behavior at camp to help create a friendly and respectful environment for everyone.
1. Respect Others
-
Treat all fellow campers, counselors, and staff with kindness, respect, and empathy.
-
Listen to others, use polite language, and avoid any form of bullying, teasing, or exclusion.
2. Follow Instructions
-
Listen carefully to instructions given by counselors and camp staff.
-
Follow the rules for each activity to ensure everyone’s safety and enjoyment.
-
Ask for help if unsure about any instructions or camp rules.
3. Stay Safe
-
Always stay with your group and keep your counselor informed of your whereabouts.
-
Follow all safety guidelines during camp activities, especially on field trips and in the water.
-
Report any unsafe situations or injuries to a counselor immediately.
4. Respect Camp Property and the Environment
-
Take care of camp facilities, equipment, and supplies.
-
Clean up after yourself, whether you’re indoors or outdoors.
5. Be a Good Friend
-
Include others in games and activities, and be considerate of others’ feelings.
-
Encourage and support your fellow campers in trying new activities and having fun.
-
Celebrate each other’s successes and help others if they’re having a tough time.
6. Be Honest and Take Responsibility
-
Be truthful with counselors, staff, and fellow campers.
-
Take responsibility for your actions and any mistakes.
-
Respect other campers’ belongings and report any lost or found items to a counselor.
7. Participate with a Positive Attitude
-
Give each activity a try, even if it’s something new or challenging.
-
Stay positive, have fun, and encourage others to enjoy themselves, too.
-
Help make camp a friendly place by being welcoming and encouraging to others.
8. Electronic Devices Policy
-
Leave personal electronics, including cell phones, tablets, and gaming devices, at home. We want campers to be engaged with each other and the camp experience.
-
If an electronic device is brought to camp, it will be safely stored until the end of the day.
9. Understand Consequences for Not Following the Code of Conduct
-
Campers who do not follow the Code of Conduct may receive a reminder or warning.
-
Repeated or serious misbehavior may result in further action, including time out from activities, conversations with parents, or in extreme cases, early dismissal from camp without a refund.
By following this Code of Conduct, campers help create a wonderful camp experience for everyone. Thank you for making Camp Gan Israel at Chestnut Hill a safe, welcoming, and fun place for all!
