MINI GAN
This weeks theme was Charity with Kippi Ben Kippod. Besides for giving money to the poor, charity is being there for others, and helping them with whatever they need. In Addition to Bubble pictures in Science; Cookies & Muffin Burger and fries in cooking; Hand print art in Art; Bingo in Team building; Music with Jeff & Evan and Body Games with Judy; We also had a great time doing activities
that centered around doing kind deeds for others. On Monday, Mini Gan friends painted a beautiful tzedaka ( charity) box and used jewels to give it a special touch. During water play, we used our water kitchen to help prepare food for the poor. Once the food was cooked, we set up a table, so those who needed food could enjoy it. On Tuesday, we read the book, The Very Best Place for a Penny. The story is about a little penny who began his journey
in a boys pocket and from there, went on to many different locations. The little penny never felt comfortable until his final destination, a tzedaka (charity) box. It was there that he felt so delighted to be used for a mitzvah:) After reading the book we went on a penny scavenger hunt. The hunt led us to a wonderful treasure, loads of pennies that we could use for charity. In addition to the scavenger hunt we had fun playing music games with our
counselors. On Wednesday, Mini Gan had the best time at the Easton Children's Museum, the campers all came back to camp with the coolest face paint designs. Thursday was a super fun for Mini Gan, with the moon bounce and slide. We made jewelry and cards to be given out to children in the hospital. It was touching to read the beautiful notes the children wrote. The bracelets and necklaces included letter beads that spelled words like hope, love,
care and feel better. We baked desserts that would be sold at our charity bake sale. The proceeds would go to the Chai Life Line, an organization that benefits sick children. We ended off a great day with an exciting charity auction. We used the money we found on the scavenger hunt to bid for items that we would donate to the poor. Some of the wrapped up boxes included special treats, like lollypops, for our Mini Gan friends! It was so much fun!
On Friday, we braided havdallah candles for our Shabbat bags. We made challah and played a fun game of bingo. Best of all, we loved seeing our parents, grandparents and siblings at camp! Thank you all for joining us for our grand shabbat party!

Could you believe that we completed week SIX?!? In Drama we made puppets, which we will present next week; in Crafts with Ariel we made shrinky dinks; in Art with Nina we did print making on real aprons; in Science with High Touch High Tech we did Marine Biology; in Nature with Heather we made bird feeders plus
we loved swimming at the Dedham Summer Club, Sports with the Coach Z, Ian & Vic, Krav Maga with Keinan & Alec, and dance with Ariel.
This week we played the game of Risk, focusing on Jews around the world! Starting on Monday we met Judah Maccabi and learned all about the Holiday of Chanuka! We even made our very own OIL SUN CATCHERS to commemorate the miracle with the oil! Tuesday came and boy, what a shocker! Camp Gan Izzy was invaded by a bunch of Hawaiians, Israelis, Africans, Russians, Chinese, American, and Mexicans! International
Dress up Day sure was fun! Wednesday was TRIP DAY! Now this wasn't any regular trip day, we, Camp Gan Izzy actually went to the incredible CANOBIE LAKE PARK! We had the most fabulous time riding roller coasters, going on wet rides, and riding a whole bunch of twisty, turny, flying rides! Beat that! Thursday sure was great too! After learning about the Rambam and his multiple positions, we played a hilarious game of headbands! We also had
a terrific time making our very own STRESS BALLS during Bunk Activity and some bunks even made some EXPLOSIONS! Yet nothing beats Friday when we ended off the week with a grand FAMILY SHABBAT PARTY where we sangs songs, ate yummy Shabbat snacks, and had lots of laughs!

TRAIL BLAZER & PIONEER BOYS
Can you believe there's just one week left to camp? That's crazy! Who else is going to miss camp? We started off the week with some baseball (I always get it confused with bowling, and think that strikes are good). We played "capture the paper clips", discreetly invading the other team's territory, pulling out my trusty magnifying lens, examining the grass for those elusive paper clips, trying
to not simultaneously set the grass on fire, then evading capture as I expeditiously head back into no man's land, finally meticulously fashioning a chain out of the paper clips. I tried enjoying the music during Musical Chairs, but was too busy getting off the water bottle, onto the green rhino, and finally jumping into a bucket of water to win it all. Canobie Lake Park was amusing - isn't that the the correct adjective? 5, 4, 3, 2, 1... Untamed!!!
My favorite was the merry-go-round, I don't like calling it a carousel because then it sounds like the tuna casserole that I had for dinner last night. I also went on this boat where they spill tea all over you - or something like that. We ran around camp posing for all these crazy pictures... pyramids, shapes, upside down, you name it, we did it. to see the pics! We also finished our beautiful colorful Tzedakah boxes, from sanding, to drilling, to spray painting. We finished off the week with this awesome Shabbat party, with songs, games, and more! Get ready for our best week yet!
